5 ways creators are using the Halo beyond selfies
We designed the Halo for selfies. But since launch, we've seen creators use it in ways we never anticipated.
1. Video calls and meetings
The number one feedback: the Halo has completely transformed people's video call experience. Snap it to the back of your phone, flip it toward you, and suddenly you're the best-lit person in any meeting. Warm light at 60% is the sweet spot for most indoor environments.
2. Makeup and beauty routines
Getting your makeup right requires consistent, accurate light. The Halo's tunable colour temperature means you can check how your look appears in daylight versus evening indoor lighting. No more surprises when you step outside.
3. Flat lay photography
Use the Halo in stand mode above your products, with the light as fill below the camera. Creators use it for food photography, product shots, and anything where overhead lighting matters.
4. Reading and bedside light
Warm mode at 10–20% brightness is genuinely pleasant as a reading light. Soft, doesn't strain your eyes, doesn't disturb anyone nearby.
5. Content on the go
Shooting in a coffee shop, hotel room, or car — anywhere the lighting is bad. The Halo's magnetic attachment means it stays on your phone without a second thought. Compact enough for a coat pocket. Powerful enough to make a real difference.
